Vokey Wedge fitting a great success
Last Sunday we hosted a Titleist Wedge Event on the short game practice area. We had beautiful new tour practice balls to hit with the new Titleist SM6 wedges. We have a total of 12 demo wedges available to cover all lofts and the majority of different grinds available. I also managed to squeeze in some much needed short game practice of my own!!

Godsman Recognised at the Scottish Golf Awards Moray member
Kyle Godsman was recognised last weekend at the Scottish Golf Awards for his fantastic season last year in picking up the Mens SGU Order of Merit title. Congratulations to Kyle again on his fantastic achievement, and here's hoping he can have another great season ahead.
It's great to have someone like Kyle representing the club throughout the country at such a high level and I'm sure you will all wish him well for the 2016 season.
Winter Cup It was moving weekend in the winter cup which saw many players better their overall aggregate scores. We now have a packed leaderboard with 12 people within 6 shots of our new leader
Sandy Bruce. Sandy recorded 39 points to take a 2 shot lead over
Lynn Tough, Gavin Fisher and
Terry Scholefield who had a fine 38 points on Sunday.
James Spence, Darren Dry, Calvin Moors, and
Iain Meggat are all tied for 5th place on 224.
It's shaping up to be a cracker of a weekend in the Winter Cup final, and the weather looks like it's going to play ball. Good luck to everyone playing!
A full list of the aggregate scores can be seen by
clicking here.
As stated in the winter cup rules, the final event will be played for on Saturday over the Old Course with prizes for the top 3 in each division on this day. However this weekend will also act as the final qualifying event for the aggregate scores, and so in order to make it fair to all competitors, players who cannot make Saturday's final event can choose to play their final qualifying round on Sunday.
Please note as this is the final weekend, players cannot play more than once during this weekend.

At the par 3, 11th hole New, Dave's tee shot had gone into the gorse just off to the left of the green. Since his ball may be lost, he hits a provisional ball that comes to rest near the hole. In the circumstances, it is advantageous for Dave not to find his provisional ball as he would possibly not be able to get an unplayable drop that would not end up nearer the hole. Accordingly he does not search for his original and walks directly towards his provisional ball. May Donald his opponent search for his ball?
Yes. In equity he may search for 5 minutes provided that in the mean-time Dave does not make a stroke with his provisional ball, with it being nearer to the hole than his original ball is likely to be. Dave is entitled to play a stroke, and in so doing the original ball is then lost (Rule 27-2b) and further search for it would serve no purpose.
In Match play if Dave so proceeds and his provisional ball is closer to the hole than Donald's ball, Donald can recall Dave's stroke. (Rule 10-c). However recalling the stroke would not change the status of the original ball which was lost when the provisional ball was played out of turn.
