I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
I was lucky enough to have been invited to Portugal for a few days courtesy of TaylorMade adidas Golf. I recently received a nice letter asking if I would like to become a Brand Ambassador (sounds very important.... haha) for the company. I have to say I feel very honoured to be asked, and have since found out that I'm one of only 5 in Scotland alongside the likes of Gleneagles and Turnberry Head Professionals.
Obviously I accepted, and as a result was invited to play in the Ambassador Cup at Quinta Do Lago. It was great to get on to the golf course for a couple of rounds and play alongside some fellow Pros during the couple of days. The main event was a Ryder Cup style event between Team adidas and Team TaylorMade which I was part of. The night before we had a special team dinner where the pairings were released ahead of the match. I was paired up with Alistair Good from Gullane GC and we were the last pairing out on the course.
Despite being 3 up at the turn, we were pegged back to all square on the 17th and were finally beaten on the 18th green. Thankfully our match didn't matter in the end and we were beaten 5.5-3.5. Despite the loss in the golf, it was a great couple days and was fantastic to meet all the other Pros from all over the UK and Europe.
While I've been away golfing, we've had an exciting final weekend's golf at Moray GC with both the winter cup final and final qualifying weekend to improve your aggregate scores and try and move up the leaderboard.

We finally seem to have created some more space in the shop, and in doing so managed confuse many of you in the process!! We moved the fridge just behind the main door, and as a result have created a corner of the shop which we have moved all our golf Trollies and bags into.
However we have been entertained with many members' reactions as they try to figure out where the fridge has gone!
As many of you will be aware, we have a couple of great offers available for members until the end of March.
We have a great selection of bags in the shop now, and are offering
£20 trade in against any TaylorMade or Motocaddy Cart Bags. However if it's PING or Titleist you are after then we will offer
£10 discount until the end of the month when you trade in your old bag.
Click here to find out more about this offer.
We will be continuing with some great offers in April with a shoe trade in, and a Motocaddy Lithium battery trade in offer where you can trade in your old battery and get
£25 OFF a new Lithium battery!!
It doesn't stop here either as we have created a diary of events for the next few months which includes these shop offers as well as some fun
FREE events for the membership.
Watch out for this in next week's newsletter!!
Do you know your Yardages? I am often surprised how many people don't actually know how far they hit each club in their bag. Obviously we don't have the consistency of a tour player, but surely knowing things like our maximum and average distance with each club could help us on the course!
We have invested heavily in the latest launch monitor technology in the GC2 by Foresight Sports. This allows us to measure all kinds of information from your shots which helps greatly in club fitting, tuition and giving you accurate yardages with each club in your bag.
Click here if you would like to book in for a club gapping session. The cost is
£25 and you will get a nice bag tag with all your info so you don't forget!!
For those of you who have recently joined the world of social media, or just didn't realise we were on there, we have both a Facebook page and Twitter feed for the Golf Club & Pro Shop. We try to keep you updated with any special offers, club news and interesting posts from the world of golf.

Pat and Brian were playing a friendly game. At the 3rd hole (Old) Brian's chip shot was nearly holed but finished resting against the flagstick. He removes the flagstick but his ball moves away from the hole. He then plays his ball from its new position holing the putt. Did Pat who was watching agree with Brian's procedure?
No. Brian was required to place his ball on the lip of the hole (Rule 17-4)
In Match play he would have lost the hole ( Rule 17-4 & 2-6)
In Stroke play he would incur 2 penalty strokes and the ball is holed.
It is a good job we are playing a 'friendly' but I will remember that rule.
