New Course Manager
Congratulations to Kevin Thomson who has been appointed our new Course Manager. Kevin was previously the deputy head green keeper whom you will all know well. I would just like to wish Kevin all the best in his new role, and I know he will be relishing the opportunity.
Hole in One
Well done to Andrew Ingram who achieved his first hole in one on the tough par 3 4th during the monthly medal. He was partnered by Andrew Lallement and David Finlay. Andrew managed this with a sweetly struck 3 iron into a stiff breeze. Andrew, then full of confidence, chased for more 1's, and got two more of them, unfortunately both together as he made an 11 on the 8th.
LadyBird Quiz Night
Thanks to everyone who supported the Quiz night in aid of the Ladybird Group. It was a very busy night and the club raised over £600 on the night for the group.
SGU Junior Tour
This weekend we hosted the Scottish Golf Union's HydroTour around our new course. Congratulations to Cawder Golf Club's Calum Fyfe, winner of the event.. The Scottish Golf Academy player fired rounds of 70, 71 and 72 for a three-over tally of 213 to finish one ahead of Sam Locke (Banchory) who finished with 73-73-68.
Captain & Secretary Almost Steal the Show!!
Our very own John Thomson and John Ellwood nearly stole the show at the Belhaven Captains and Secretary's tournament, placing second. The highlight of the round was a pair of solid 4's at the 8th and 14th for our very own Captain. The winners were from St Andrews and in the same group....Stewards Enquiry??!! Haha. They will go on to represent Moray in the Final at Crail Golf Club later in the year.....Well Done!

Rule of the Week
On a very windy Saturday Meda,l Mark and Grieg were both on the green at the 15th Old. When they parked their trolleys at the 16th Tee they noticed that there was the occasional windblown debris coming off the beach. When a piece of tumbleweed was blowing in the direction of Grieg's ball he said to Mark "Wouldn't it be great if it blows my ball into the hole- after all you have to play your ball from where it comes to rest after the wind has moved it." Did Mark agree?
Answer - No. "Unfortunately" said Mark "unlike the wind, the tumbleweed is an outside agency and because your ball was moved by an outside agency it must be replaced without penalty."
