I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
This Monday we had what is potentially our last official fitting/demo day of the season with TaylorMade. We managed to get a late cancellation and thanks to everyone who helped fill all the slots at such short notice.
TaylorMade's M1 & M2 ranges and PING's G Series will continue into next year before we are likely to see anything new, however Titleist are due to launch their new 917 range of metal woods in the coming weeks. We will have more news on this in the coming week's newsletters, and once the product is launched we will be hosting a Launch Day where you can all come and try the product out for yourselves.
In the meantime if anyone wants a deal on a 915 driver we have them available for only £229 (£100 OFF) with fairways down to £139 (£60 OFF).
Click here to find out more about the 915 range, or click here to get in touch if you would like to reserve one of our remaining stock.
Derek rejoined us after a few weeks of golfing and attending the TPI Seminar in Amsterdam. However Derek will again be leaving Julieann and I to hold the fort while he will be off work recovering from an operation. Derek is going in to hospital this week for a rhinoplasty (Nose Job). Now this isn't in a vain attempt to make himself even better looking, but in order to help him breathe properly. So if you see Derek wandering about with a plaster over his face and 2 black eyes he's not been in a fight but merely in recovery.
Derek is then booked in to play in the Sandy Pipey Young Masters at Royal Dornoch the following weekend if he has recovered by then. Derek will play in the Pro-Am alongside Moray & Royal Dornoch members, Gary & Debbie Bethune and then compete in the 36 hole stroke play event the following 2 days.
I have been meeting up with quite a few reps these past few weeks and we have ordered something new for 2017 in the form of FootJoy clothing in both Ladies and Gents.
We have been slowly reducing our current stock in order to make way for our new winter ranges from adidas, Oscar Jacobson and Under Armour.
Our adidas range has now arrived in store and is available for you to buy.
We'd love to know your thoughts....
Last weekend's Monthly Medal was the final qualifying event for our New CAPRO CUP event which takes place over the first weekend in October. All qualifiers will get a Capro Cup Top supplied by yours truly as well as some food and drink over the weekend.
Hopefully we will also manage to keep a few of you in the clubhouse afterwards to watch the official Ryder Cup and continue what I'm sure will be an enjoyable weekends' golf.
Congratulations to the automatic qualifiers. If you have qualified or are close to qualifying, could you please let me know if you are available to play, and we also need to know your top size with adidas ASAP (Come and try one on in the shop if you like).
So the official 16 qualifiers after 10 events are as follows highlighted in red.
Castle Stuart Trip Thanks to everyone who responded to my initial post about a golf day to Castle Stuart. We have managed to get a date of
Saturday, 24 September which gives us a maximum number of 32 golfers who can attend.
The cost will be
£80 which will include bacon roll/coffee before golf, warm up facilities, 18 holes golf which will include a couple of prizes for an Individual Stableford on the day and a choice of meal on completion of your round (usually burger choice, pasta or Piri Piri chicken). Unfortunately there is no reduction in green fee for anyone deciding not to have any of the catering on the day as this is a package deal agreed with Castle Stuart.
Those wishing to take a bus will also incur a fee of around
£15 which will take you and your golf clubs (no room for electric or pull trolleys I'm afraid) from Moray GC departing at 11am and leaving Castle Stuart at 8pm with tee times between 12.40-1.30pm.
As we are limited to numbers and I need to make prepayment in advance to secure the booking, It will be first come, first served, and those who wish to confirm their place will be required to make payment of £80 (cash only please) in advance to secure their place.
Those wishing to secure a place on the bus will also need to pay £10 (deposit) to secure their place. The full bus price is likely to be between £15-£20 maximum depending on numbers.
I don't really like to ask for payments so quickly, but this just help us know who is serious about going and allows us to confirm numbers for the course and the bus.
