Final Call for Pro's Day
My Pro's Day takes place this Saturday, and so this is your last chance to book your team of 4 players into this fun annual event. If you don't have a team, but would like to play, we have a few teams that require a 4th man for their team. The entry is £10 per person, and this pays for food, prizes and refreshments. You will have a choice of food after your round included, and there will be some complimentary refreshments available on the course.... Its never too early to have that first beer or after shock!!
We will be running on course nearest the pins and straightest drive competitions. We will also be trying to raise some money for the local Ladybird Group.
We will have an on course challenge on one of the par 3's, so be sure to take your £5 note to bet on the outcome of your shot....hit the green and double your money......miss the green and you're still a winner as your money goes to charity!!

The Players Championships
It was an exciting end to the Players Championship at the weekend. A weather delay took place as the leaders were at the 13th hole. At that point Martin Kaymer had a 4 stroke lead over the rest of the field. After a short thunder delay, they were back playing. However after a quick double bogey 6 by Kaymer, he now only had a one stroke lead.
The 17th once again played its part in the drama! Kaymer's approach hit the green and then almost spun back into the water, only stopped by the apron of the green. A poor chip then left Kaymer a huge swinging 25 foot putt which he preceded to hole to hold his one shot lead heading to the 18th. Now playing the last hole almost in darkness, Kaymer managed an up and down from just short of the green to take the Championship.

Could you Manage 7 Rounds in a Day??
Moray member, Daniel Marshall is taking on a Golf Marathon in aid of Prostate Cancer UK on the 19th June. Daniel will attempt to play seven rounds of golf on the Old Course in ONLY 1 DAY!!!! Daniel is expecting to tee of for his 1st round sometime after 4am and is looking to take just over 2 hours per round. Lets hope there is no slow play on the day, and that all Moray members are courteous enough to let Daniel play through and achieve this challenging task. We have a sponsorship form in the shop, so if anyone would like to make a donation to Daniel, then come in past and see us.
US Open Sweepstake
We now have our US Open Sweepstake running in the shop. This years US Open is held at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club. Last years winner was Justin Rose who claimed his maiden Major victory. I wonder what the course has in store for the players this year with the US Open recognised as one of the tougher majors with tight fairways and tricky greens always a feature.
As there is a larger field of 156 players, buy your squares for £2.50 per player or £10 for 5 players. Prizes will be paid out for the following:
Places 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Best Score Each Day
Worst Score Each Day

Rule of the Week
On the Saturday morning Competition, the course was wet after the previous night's rain. Drew's drive at the 17th finished up at the base of one of the large fairway mounds. His next stroke was a thinned fairway wood which ended up embedded in the bank. Drew calls over to Graeme "My ball is embedded in its own pitch mark I shall take relief". Graeme who was watching Drew play his shot had something different to say. What was it?
Drew was not entitled to relief as provided in Rule 25-2 (embedded ball) as his ball was not embedded in its own "pitch mark" . The word "pitch-mark" implies that the ball has to have been airborne.
