Congratulations to Barbara Caie on winning the Breast Cancer Stableford with a fantastic 44 points. Barbara is only in her second full year playing golf and has already got her handicap down from 36 to 30 ....Very Well Done! It looks like Barbara is in good form as she narrowly missed out on 1st place in the Ladies Division 2 Handicap in the recent Ladies Open (by 1 shot), and yet finished with a ten and two nines!!
New TaylorMade SLDR additions
The new SLDR Mini Driver is available in 12,14 and 16 degree lofts, and is aimed at those of us that struggle a little of the tee with the big stick!! The 320 CC head is inbetween a fairway and driver headsize, yet has a much shorter shaft length to allow a product that will hit it further than your fairway wood, but more accurate than your driver..... We have a 12 degree stiff and 14 degree regular in stock. Dont be put off by the lofts on these. The idea is more loft, lower spin = Longer Drives!! Come and give it a trial!!
We now also have the standard SLDR Driver (£299) available in a white/black finish, and also the new SLDR S Driver, Fairway and hybrid. The S range has a matt silver finish and looks very similar to its SLDR counterparts, exept the loft can't be adjusted these retail at £249.99.
New 125th Anniversary Products
We have some new 125th Anniversary golf accessories now in store including towels, caps, ball markers, pitchforks and even some nice cufflinks.
We can still order 125th Anniversary sweaters or slipovers although there is around a 3 week delivery on these at this time of year. We are also offering some basic polo shirts from Glenbrae with the 125th Anniversary Logo. We will have a few of these arriving shortly, however should you wish to get a particular size or colour then please place an order through the shop and we can get your preffered option in for you.
US Open Sweepstake
We now have our US Open Sweepstake running in the shop. This years US Open is held at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club. Last years winner was Justin Rose who claimed his maiden Major victory. I wonder what the course has in store for the players this year with the US Open recognised as one of the tougher majors with tight fairways and tricky greens always a feature.
As there is a larger field of 156 players, buy your squares for £2.50 per player, or £10 for 5 players. Prizes will be paid out for the following:
Places 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Best Score Each Day
Worst Score Each Day
Leading Amateur
