Hello Golfers,
I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
We have had a pretty frosty week so far with overnight temperatures of around -6 degrees resulting in temporary greens. Thankfully last weekend the frost stayed away and we were able to get the full course in operation for the winter cup with 58 playing on Saturday and 26 on Sunday.
We will shortly start to post the overall results with the best three scores counting from each course.
Congratulations to Monica Grant who was given an honorary membership at the recent AGM from the club for all her hard work, time and effort over the years with the Clubs junior program.
Monica is a great asset to the club and has been a huge help to our own coaching programme's as well as heading up the Club Golf coaching programme which targets getting new primary school children into trying golf. Well done Monica!

Derek and Neil were putting on the 16th green on the Old course. Derek was asked by Neil to remove the flag and he set it down to the right of the hole. As Neil's putt was nearing the hole it started to take the borrow and looked as if it would hit the flagstick. Derek ran and managed to move it out of the line of Neil's ball.
Was Derek in breach of Rule 24 -1 for removing an obstruction that might influence the movement of the ball?
No. The exception to Rule 24-1 states; when a ball is in motion an obstruction that might influence the movement of the ball, other than equipment of any player or the flagstick when attended, removed, or held up, must not be moved.
The final quiz of the calendar year is on Thursday, 8 December - 7.30pm.
There will be food provided and there have been four different winners so far.
