Greetings from John Murray
Moray Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional
I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
We seemed to be one of the only places in the North of Scotland that wasn't closed due to snow over the weekend. The Pro Shop phone line was red hot on Saturday morning with people calling to see if we were closed!
Not only were we open but on full greens! I had calls from Forres, Rothes and Keith direction who all had plenty snow on the ground and yet we had sunshine and full greens in play!
I have been busy looking into some options for a potential small undercover facility at our practice area to help with our coaching and for members to practice during inclement weather. I would be interested to get some member's feedback on the current practice facilities and also whether an undercover facility would be beneficial.
If you could take 2 mins of your time to fill out the short survey by clicking on the link below I would be very grateful.

If you mention your name in one of the comments boxes in question 6 or 7 then you will also go into a draw for a dozen of the new ProV1 Golf Balls.

New Product Keeps Coming
This week we have had TaylorMade's new M1 and P770 Irons arrive in the shop. Check out our short video below by clicking here.
Come in and check these out for yourself. I will be putting the M2, M1 and P770 to the test for next week's newsletter so watch this space.
Re-grip your 7 Iron for FREE
We are running a special promotion this month which gives you the chance to get your 7 iron re-gripped completely free of charge! This allows you to basically try out a new grip of your choice (stock only).
If the grip is to your satisfaction then we can do the rest of your set. If you don't feel the difference then you keep the grip for FREE .
Please don't ask us to re-grip individual clubs like your driver, wedge or hybrid as your request will politely be refused!
Video Tips
Last week we had a request from Norman Fowler to post a video tip on how to keep the ball low into the wind with the driver.
So here it is! Click here to watch.
Thanks for feedback and video requests. Please keep these coming! It can be anything from a rule query, swing tip or product comparison. Just let us know what you want and we will do our best to cover it over the next few week's newsletters.

Night Golf
We are hosting our Night Golf Event this Friday at the club. We will have a 6 hole course with holes ranging between 120-200 yards and you are allowed a maximum of 3 clubs plus putter. We will also have a nearest the pin on the 18th green up for grabs.
The first tee time is a 6.30pm shotgun start (without the shotgun!) and the 2nd tee time is 7.45pm with an expected prize giving at 9pm. We expect the 6 holes to take around 1 hour to complete.
If everyone playing could be down at the Pro Shop 30 mins before your tee time to allow time to go through the rules, hand out the golf balls and give you time for a pre-golf complimentary drink in the shop.
Valentines Disco
This Saturday, 18 February we have a Valentines Disco from 9pm until close. Featuring Ocean Dave's Disco playing great songs across the years including Mel C, The Beach Boys and Bob Marley & The Whalers.
This event is sponsored by CM Entertainments. Make sure you don't miss out.
Albert, Brian, Charlie and David were playing their usual friendly 4 ball. Finishing the 17th hole Old the group were all square. Albert was last to drive the 18th and passed the time of day with the group finishing the 1st Old also the group walking off the 18th New.
His 3 playing companions, having played their tee shots set off down the 18th fairway. Albert had forgotten all about driving off the 18th and gaily walked with them. Only when he could not find his drive did he remember that he hadn't driven!
Back to the tee he launched a big drive, played his shot to the green 4ft from the flag and holed out for a 3. "Thank you boys the money's mine today," "Not so fast said David."
What did he have to say to Albert?
Albert was in breach of Rule 6-7 Undue delay: Slow play, due to him having to go back and drive from the Tee then catch up his group on the fairway. Penalty Loss of hole for 1st Offence. However they all shook hands on the green then pints all round!
