Greetings from John Murray
Moray Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional
I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
Weather Disruptions
This week we have started to see some milder weather hit the Moray Links which is great to see and you better get your shorts out as Friday looks to be Sunny and into the 20's!
However last Saturdays HP Stewart wasn't so lucky with rain that fell for the whole day with very little let up at all. Despite a large number of cancellations especially in the afternoon, we still managed to get around 100 players still taking to the course which was great to see! I managed to catch one of the early groups coming off the 18th green looking rather damp!
On the positive side the course was in need of some rain and it certainly will have helped bring the course on as we go forward especially with this week's dry/warm spell.
We had managed to get 12 new ladies signed up for our Get Into Golf taster session on Saturday which we had to cancel due to the weather and the lack of undercover practice facilities. This was really disappointing after such a positive response. However we will aim to reschedule the date and hope that we can get everyone coming back for another try!
Derek has been busy this week signing autographs after his movie premiere was shown live on Good Morning Britain where we all found out what Derek likes to do in his spare time..."Dolphin spotting, sea fishing, surfing as well as playing golf!" I bet you all had no idea Derek was into such a diverse range of activities!
