Greetings from John Murray
Moray Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional
I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
US Open
This week sees the 2nd major of the year, The US Open take place at Erin Hills in Wisconsin for the first time. The USPGA have been under some heat over the last few years with criticism over the greens and the toughness of the golf courses.
It appears that this week could be no different as Kevin Na went to social media to show what the players have to deal with this week. Click here to watch what he had to say.
What's your opinion? Do you enjoy watching the world's best struggle or do you think the US Open is getting too tough?
Regardless it will be a good weeks viewing! Our Pro Shop sweepstake draw has also been made so if you bought a square then click here to find out your player(s) for the week.
We have a busy week ahead at the club as both gents, seniors and ladies club championship are played for over the week. Good luck to all competitors playing!!
Ladies Group Coaching
We are looking to put on some Ladies Members Group Coaching sessions over the summer months. These sessions would probably be once per week over a 6 week block with each session covering a different aspect of the game. If you would be interested then please click here to register your interest and let me know any days/times that really wouldn't be suitable. The cost of the six week block would be around £45.
Men's Group Coaching
We are also looking at putting on some men's Group Coaching sessions over the summer and are looking to see if there is any interest in this? Initially we would probably do a 4 week block for 4-6 members at a cost of approx £30 per block. Click here if this would be of any interest to you and let us know the best days and times for this to be suitable to you.

Playing the 3rd Old George's tee shot was hit right and bounced off the banking on landing and heading towards the line of whin bushes. They searched for 4mins but the ball could not be found. In frustration George hit the top of the whin bush and his ball dropped to the ground. He shrugged his shoulders and turned to David "what happens now?"
David explained that George incurred a one stroke penalty under Rule 12 -1 for Ball moved during search and for another one stroke penalty he could deem his Ball Unplayable under Rule 28. David added that under the Proposed new Rules 2019 there would be NO penalty for a ball moved during search.
