Greetings from John Murray Moray Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional
I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
Junior Camp
This week we have been busy with our first junior camp of the summer holidays. Derek and I had our hands full as we had 38 juniors aged between 6-14 years taking over the practice area between Monday and Wednesday. Thankfully we didn't have them all at once and we were very lucky to have dry weather over the 3 days.
It was great to see such a good turnout for the coaching and we already have a good number booked in for our 2nd date which is the 8-10th August. That should just about give us enough time to recover from this week's sessions!
Titleist Fitting Day
This coming week we have a Titleist Fitting Day at the practice area on Tuesday, 11 July between 2.30-6.30pm. These 1/2 hour sessions are FREE of charge and allow you to come along and try out the current Titleist range including Irons, Woods and Wedges. We still have a few slots left so why not come down and put your current equipment to the test against the Titleist range and see if it can make a difference to your game.
Tour News
The European Tour now travels closer to home and we should have an exciting few weeks golf with the Irish Open, Scottish Open, the Open Championship and finally the Moray Open making a very busy month in the golfing world!
We now have our usual Open Championship Sweepstake in the shop at £2.50 per square with prizes for the top 3 players and best and worst rounds each day

Abercromby Cup
The scratch team had a successful home first leg win against Cullen GC in the Abercromby Cup. Moray won the first match 7-1 which gives them a nice lead going in to the tricky second leg at Cullen. Here's hoping that it's a strong enough lead to see us into the next round.
Handicap League
Moray beat Forres 6-2 in their latest Moray & Nairn Handicap League match and moved top of the league after the win.
Hole in 1 Club
Congratulations to Ally Noble on achieving his first hole in 1 on the 11th of the New Course this week.
Ally was partnered by Freddy Peterkin and used a 5 Iron for his first ace......Well Done Ally!
