This week Ive been busy running our summer junior ClubGolf camp. We have had 10 budding young golfers each day and have worked through all aspects of the game as well as introducing them to the Ryder Cup and its various matchplay formats. Friday is our last day and we shall be playing Ryder Cup singles, Fourball and Foursomes matchplay competitions to top off a fantastic week. I have really enjoyed the junior camp, however I am certainly looking forward to a cold beer at the end of the week!!!
On Wednesday we got the chance to attend the Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen which was a great experience for the kids. We had buses put on by ClubGolf Scotland and were first taken to Murcar Links to take part in the kids VIP challenges with approximately 500 children taking part.
We then headed over to Royal Aberdeen where the kids had a chance to get some autographs and watch some of the action.
Moray Member Makes a Comeback!!
It is great to see John Mackenzie back on the course after a horrific car crash on A96 when a lorry hit him head on just outside Huntly, one Thursday in December. Despite a remake of his left arm and little use of it John is already breaking 100.
Soon John hopes to be back walking the course but is enjoying the craic of a buggy. He did not know the course had so many bumps!

Rule of the Week - 11th July 2014
Playing in the H P Stewart on Saturday Mike found his 2nd shot at the 11th on the far bank of the ditch. While he was assessing his next shot he noticed a small stone beside his ball and bent down and removed it but his ball moved. Mike was unsure of the penalty he had incurred and called to Stevie to explain. How many penalty shots did he incur.
Mike had breached 2 rules, Rule 13-4 prohibited action in a hazard by removing the stone, 2 stroke penalty and Rule 18-2a ball at rest moved by player 1 stroke penalty.
However a Single Act resulting in two Rules being broken a single penalty is applied. Mike has to replace his ball after his ball had moved. His total penalty for the infringements was 2 strokes.
