Open Fever Hits Moray Golf Club
It's safe to say this year's 109th Moray Open was huge success with a full field of 336 players and weather which was beyond perfect for the whole week, who needs to go on holiday! Our course manager Kevin Thomson after the busiest couple weeks of the year getting the course in fantastic condition made it to the final before being edged out on the 19th hole by Barry Stewart from Biggar in the scratch section.
Michael Baber was victorious over John Martin in handicap section 1, which was a very competitive division this year. Winner of division 2 was Alex Mitchel edging out Callum Laing in another close match by 1 hole.
Thank you to everyone who helped during the week without your support it would be impossible to run such a fantastic event.

Junior Week
We have our Junior Week coming up shortly after the Moray Open which is available to junior members at a cost of £25 for the week. We will have 1 hours coaching each morning (except Thursday) followed by some mini on course competitions during the afternoons which will allow players to get their cards for their handicaps. We will have 2 seperate coaching sessions in the mornings for different age/ability groups.

Mansafe Adult Junior
To start off the Junior week, we also have our annual Adult/Junior competition on Sunday 3rd August over the Old Course.
Entries are £10 per pair for members and £18 per pair for visitors. You can book in for this through the BRS booking system. Any queries or problems, contact John on 813330.
Rule of the Week - 31st July 2014
At times during the Moray Open hold ups were inevitable. Peter, James and John had to wait on the Tee for the fairway to clear on several holes. Peter took the opportunity while he was waiting to putt up and down on the Tee. James and John looked at each other quizzically and questioned Peter if he was permitted to practise putting on the Tee.
Peter assured them that under Rule 7-2c "he may practise putting or chipping on or near the teeing ground of the next hole to be played in the round."
