Tiger Returns It was an exciting weekend on the PGA Tour as Tiger was back on the first page of the leaderboard once again. An impressive display from the former world number 1, saw him narrowly miss out on a playoff as he came up one shot back from Paul Casey’s winning 10 under score. However it certainly went a long way to proving that Tiger may indeed be close to getting back to his old game. Tiger hasn’t won a tournament since 2013 but over the weekend he proved that when Tigers competing, the world tunes in!! The Valspar event saw its highest ever weekend viewing figures and a 181% increase from last year’s event (that’s with Spieth and McIlroy missing the cut) TV viewing figures were higher than last year’s Open, US Open and USPGA events from last year! Unbelievably, Woods is now 2nd favourite to win the years first major, the US Masters, which is only now 3 weeks away! Whether you’re a Tiger Woods fan or not, I’m sure we would all enjoy seeing a Masters Sunday shootout with the likes of Woods and Mickelson alongside the likes of McIlroy, Speith and Johnson on the leaderboard! |
