Update
This week I’m getting away from the Shop for a day to play in a Charity Golf Day at the Hawkshill course at Newmachar Golf Club. It’s a course that I have never played and so I am looking to getting out on the course for a much-needed game and it always nice to play a new course. We have another busy week with lessons and fittings going on throughout the week so if you’re looking for a lesson then get it touch ASAP to make sure we can fit you in as there are now limited times available. Watch out for our junior coaching camp dates, some ladies and men’s group coaching offerings coming up. It’s also another busy weekend on the links with the May Monthly Medal as well as the Sunday Open going on. Good luck to everyone playing. I will be out coaching from 12pm during Saturday and then hope to join many of you out on the links for a game (if you’re not watching the Royal Wedding) Happy Golfing

Sawgrass Round Up The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass or the 5th major as its commonly known finished on Sunday with Webb Simpson claiming a 4 shot victory after leading from round 1. Simpson equaled the course record 63 in the 2nd round (with a double bogey at 17!!) and then went on to match the lowest 36 and 54 hole totals in the Players and take a 7 shot lead into the final round. No one in the history of the PGA Tour had ever lost when entering the final round with such a cushion.
|
There was some excitement when a wobble in the middle of the round by Simpson and a final round flurry of birdies from Tiger Woods had the lead down to 4 and viewers wondering if it could be possible.
In the end Simpson managed to steady the ship with birdies at 11 and 16 and Woods slipped back down the leaderboard to allow Simpson to stroll home with a double bogey on 18 to win by 4 strokes |

Removal of Loose Impediments Donald’s drive finished in the area of casual water at the right side of the 7th (Old) fairway. Finding his nearest point of relief, the area on which he would be dropping his ball was covered in leaves. Being unsure whether he could remove the leaves before he dropped his ball he asked George to clarify his situation. George informed Donald that under Rule 23-1 he was permitted to remove Loose Impediments from an area in which his ball is to be dropped.
