Xact Scottish Boys & Girls Amateur Championships
We have around 180 boys and girls about to take to the New and Old Courses this weekend in preparation for next week’s Scottish Boys & Girls Amateur Championships. We have official practice days on Saturday (Old) and Sunday (New) before the 36-hole strokeplay qualifying rounds start on Monday. The courses will unfortunately be closed to members on these days but availability will gradually improve from Wednesday as the event moves into match play (Old Course Only) The practice area will also be extremely busy during the early part of the week and so if you’re thinking about putting in some practice I would choose your times wisely to avoid the mad rush during the day. Generally, the range will be very busy during the day and so should hopefully become quieter in the evenings. |
Covesea View Restaurant The club will be hosting a pop up restaurant evening on Saturday, 7th July between 5.30-8.30pm. This will be upstairs in the current committee room opposite the Secretary’s office and I have attached the menu for the evening. Click here for the full menu. Tables can be booked by contacting the Duffus Inn at Moray Golf Club on 01343 812018 option 6. We hope to see you all there.

Kyle shows his class Congratulations to Kyle Godsman on winning the Club Championships with rounds of 72/72/71/71 for a 286 total of two over par in some very testing conditions. Kyle won by nine shots from last year’s winner, Stuart Tatters (295), with Neil Main in 3rd on 299.
Kyle won his 4th Club Championship title with an impressive final round in very blustery conditions which made the already hard and fast fairways and greens extremely challenging. Kyle s final round 71 included a triple bogey (11), Double bogey (18) and 5 birdies at 9,10,12,13, & 16. Congratulations Kyle. |

Lifting ball wrongly dropped or placed David deemed his ball unplayable and opted for Rule 28c, dropping a ball within two club-lengths not nearer the hole. Unfortunately, Billy had to tell him that he had dropped his ball in a wrong place. He then lifted his ball, under Rule 20-6 and stated that he now wishes to proceed under Rule 28- b, dropping back on a line from where his ball lay keeping that spot between the hole and the spot where his ball is dropped. Is David allowed to change his option when he re-dropped his ball? The answer is Yes.

Which bracket do you fall in? |
There’s one thing that you'll always need in abundance when playing golf and that’s balls - and plenty of them. Each golf ball we sell offers different levels of feel and performance at varying price points, meaning we have something to offer all playing preferences and budgets. |
| Bang for your buck Balls at a cheaper price point usually have one key performance benefit rather than offering a little of everything. The Titleist DT TruSoft bucks this trend by offering incredibly soft feel combined with longer distance on all shots through the bag. |
| The all-rounder If you’re looking for more balanced performance through the bag without the premium price tag, this Titleist Tour Soft ball provides category leading soft feel, very fast speed for impressive distance and excellent short game performance. |
| Tour performance The saying 'you get what you pay for' certainly applies when it comes to golf balls. Titleist's Pro V1/x are their premium options, and it's easy to see why, with their soft urethane cover delivering exceptional greenside control. |
