Latest Update
Another weekend on winter greens is starting to frustrate everyone especially those playing in the winter cup with the last 3 weeks events being called off due to frost. It’s certainly looking as though things are warming up slightly this week so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for things to improve for this weekend. Thanks to everyone who popped up to have a look at the new Performance Centre in the clubhouse on Saturday. We ran a nearest the pin event in aid of Parkinson’s UK and I’m delighted to say that we managed to raise £480 between 12pm-5pm which was fantastic. Congratulations go to James Crilley who won the event and picked up a bottle of whisky and a dozen Srixon balls kindly donated by Hamlyns of Scotland.
Here are the top 5 scores:

As many of you are now aware I’ve been in training for the London Marathon which takes place on Sunday April 28th. The £485 which was raised on Saturday goes towards my other kind donations and helps me get closer to my target goal of raising £2000 for the charity. I’ve been busy trying to get myself in better shape for the event and have been building up my mileage on a weekly basis after starting training only 4 weeks ago. I still have a long way to go but I’m pleased to say that things are so far going according to plan and I managed my longest run so far of 9 miles last Sunday in just over 1 hour and 20 minutes. Only another 17 miles to go after that!! (What a thought) I’ve only got another 80 days to get myself in shape until the big day which is probably even scarier!! If anyone didn’t make it up to take part in our Parkinson’s Par 3 Challenge then fear not!! You can still do your bit by sponsoring me through the shop or by clicking here.
