Latest Update
We have had another busy week here at the club with deliveries starting to arrive in the shop. In order to make way for this year’s new stock we have been busy spring cleaning and trying to make some space in the shop. We have now taken stock of the new TaylorMade M5 & M6 product for 2019 which looks amazing and has been performing very well in initial testing. |

Derek and I have been busy in the studio with a number of lessons, gapping sessions, simulator hire and club fittings which is great to see. We now have our smoke alarm and security camera in place and are starting to mount all our club shafts onto the walls in order to maximize our space in the room. We also have a rather large mirror on order which will allow all you serious golfers to check out your set up while utilising the room (not for checking your hair!!) We have taken delivery of the new PING G410 irons and shafts for our fitting Centre and hope to see the new woods arrive next week. We also hope to have a date for our first PING Fitting Day (in next week’s newsletter) to add to our Titleist Event on Wed 20th (1 SPACE LEFT) and TaylorMade on the 14th March (More details later). This week we have custom fitted the following equipment in the indoor studio:
Lynx Parallax Irons 5-PW, +1 Inch Long, 2 degrees upright with jumbo grips - Saw a 30 yard increase over customers old std Mizuno blades
Titleist AP3 Irons 4-PW - Increase in Distance but more importantly improved dispersion from current non fitted irons
TaylorMade P790 5-PW Steel - stronger ball flight and 12 yards more distance on current irons.
TaylorMade M6 5-PW Steel - Increased distance by 10 yards, with improved dispersion by flattening lie angle
TaylorMade M3 Driver - fitted customer into driver with 12 degree (set at 14) and fairway wood shaft length which has added around 30 yards distance and allowed him to put a driver in the bag for the first time in a long time!
TaylorMade M6 D-Type Driver - Better head design and more loft helped improve Dispersion and gained 20+ yards carry over current PING G400 9 Degree Driver
NO SALE - Customer spent £40 on an hours Driver fitting but Saved £399 in the long run when we identified that a new driver wasn’t really worth it as his current club was working well for him. It’s not always about selling you something for the sake of it. If we don’t see a performance improvement then we will tell you. Thinking about some new clubs before the new season starts? Come and have a chat with us and see what we can do to ensure you get the right equipment for your game!

Ball In Motion Accidentally Deflected
2019; Rule Under Rule 11.1; for all accidental deflections, including when a ball hits the player or opponent or their equipment or caddies. There will be NO PENALTY and the ball will be played as it lies (with limited exceptions) To address any concern that a player might deliberately position equipment to act as a backstop and potentially deflect his or her ball, there will a penalty if the ball hits equipment that was positioned for that purpose. Rule 11.2a Reason for the change: Just as there is no penalty in stroke play if one player or (his equipment or caddie ) accidentally deflects another player’s ball, there is no need for a penalty when a player or the player’s equipment or caddie accidentally deflects his/ her own ball. Accidental deflections are by definition, an accident and this applies equally to players, caddies and equipment, which are necessarily close to the area of play. Treating all accident deflections the same no matter who or what caused them.

More and more golfers are placing their trust in GPS equipment to help them on the course, providing key yardages to hazards and greens on every hole. If you’re yet to take advantage of this technology then you really are missing out, so here are a couple of our favourite products for you to cast an eye over... |
| Garmin Approach S10 Watch | This is the perfect accessory to help you get your exact yardage to the green with nothing more than a glance at your wrist. Sleek, lightweight and comfortable, the S10 GPS watch provides yardages to the front, back and middle of the green on over 41,000 courses worldwide, on top of hazards and doglegs, giving you all the key information you need to play better golf. |
| Garmin Approach G80 Device | Now this is something special. The Approach G80 is a handheld GPS device that gives you colour maps of every hole as well as key distances to greens and hazards. In addition, its integrated Launch Monitor not only tracks key data such as clubhead speed and estimated distance, but it comes with four game modes to enhance your practice time at the range. |
