This is my last newsletter before heading off on my holidays for some winter sunshine. I will be leaving Derek and Julieann in charge in the shop and I'm sure they will look after you during this time.
I will be heading out to Dubai again and am planning to get a few games of golf while I am there. We will also be there while the final event of the European Tour season, the DP World Tour Championships are on and I've managed to get some tickets for Saturday's 3rd round (I'll give you all a wave!!).
However, before I leave I will be at the clubs Annual Prize giving ceremony on Friday and so hope to see many of you there to pick up your prizes.
Remember the Winter Cup kicks off this weekend. £3 entry fee and £3 for the competition for the 1st week. The format is stableford and please make sure you put your names on your cards in legible handwriting, mark your cards (with handicap) and sign them to ensure we can get the scoring done as quickly as possible.
Finally if you can put your scorecards in the box outside the spike bar in the back corridor it would be greatly appreciated.
There are various product launches in the next couple of months including the Titleist 915 range and TaylorMade's new RSi Iron range and New Wood Ranges (NO news on this yet!!)
We will have all the new equipment when it's available and it's an ideal time of year to come and see us about your current equipment. Whether you are in the market for some new clubs or just want to see if this new technology can help your game improve, why not come and chat to me about it.
We have the latest in launch monitor technology. I have invested in the GC2 launch monitor which I have had for a couple of years now but have now added the HMT (Head Measuring Technology) to my toolkit.
This high tech piece of kit basically measures everything that the golf balls does including launch angle, spin rates, carry distance, dispersion and ball speed.
The new HMT add on now also measure everything that the clubhead is doing in the swing including club path, clubface angle, angle of attack (hitting up or down), clubhead speed, and shows me where you are striking the ball on the clubface.
A huge amount of data which in the wrong hands could see your brain explode!!!! However understanding the data (that's where I come in) and applying it to the golfer (that's where you come in) can have huge benefits in helping improve your swing and finding you the right equipment to maximise your enjoyment of the game.
We will be carrying out a 10 yard challenge in the coming months. We will attempt to gain everyone at least 10 extra yards either through a swing tip or an equipment change. Look out for this FREE event in the near future.
In the meantime if anyone would like to book a lesson or a yardage gapping session using our launch monitor, click here or call into the shop for further information.
New TaylorMade RSi Irons
We have just taken delivery of the New TaylorMade RSi Irons.
Even great golfers have mis-hits. It's part of the game. TaylorMade studies show that 76% of shots hit by golfers are mis-hits. So their engineers set out to design the ultimate iron to help golfers have better mis-hits.
The desired results? You're going to hit more greens, and shoot lower scores because your misses will be better. RSi series irons are the first irons ever to feature FaceSlot Technology which provides uniform flexion across the face protecting ball speed and generating more consistent distance on off-center hits.

Golf Spikes
We offer a FREE re-spiking service for our customers when you purchase a new set of spikes for your shoes. There are a number of different spike options and shoe fittings available depending on the conditions you are playing in, and depending on the brand of shoes you have.
My winter favourite is the Ultra Grip Pro spikes which have a soft spike as well as a metal spike through the middle. These are great for winter golf when the course conditions are softer, wetter and sometimes quite slippy.
Come in with your shoes - Only £10.99 for the Ultra Grip Spikes + FREE Fitting!!
Golf Grips
It is recommended that you change your grips every season or every 40 rounds.......not many of you probably do that!!
Keep in mind that grips lose a significant amount of their original feel long before they become hard and slick. Because it happens slowly over time, most golfers fail to notice it. That's important to remember because just a tiny, imperceptible slip at contact will be magnified to many yards by the time the ball reaches its target.
We have a large selection of grips available in store at price points to suit every pocket. We can regrip your clubs for as little as £2.50 per club. Why not come in past the shop and let us correctly fit you for the correct size and type of grip.
Craig's ball lies on the front of the putting green but casual water lies on his line of putt. However the nearest position affording complete relief which is not nearer the hole or in a hazard is off the green in the rough. If he opts to take relief, must he place or drop the ball in the rough?
Aaron who was playing with him that day informed Craig that he must place the ball in the rough under Rule 25-1b(iii) Had he dropped and played his ball he would have been penalised 2 strokes under Rule 20-6
