Women’s British Open
It’s a big week in the Ladies game as the Women’s British Open is currently taking place.
As one of only two women Majors played outside the US, the Women’s British Open is known to be the most international with 29 different nations represented in the 2018 line-up and 19 of the top 20 on the Rolex World Rankings headlining the field. Reigning champion Georgia Hall of England will be aiming to defend her title against the world’s best players including China's first World No.1 Shanshan Feng, the youngest ever world No. 1 Lydia Ko, two-time Major winner So Yeon Ryu and a list of American stars including Lexi Thompson and Michelle Wie. Georgia Hall will also be joined by the UK’s other hopefuls such as Charlie Hull and Catriona Matthew. It’s also a big week as players hope to pick up double points towards making the upcoming Solheim Cup which takes place at Gleneagles in September. I’ve booked my tickets for the big event at Gleneagles and will be taking Mel along to see if I can excite her into taking up the game. Watch this space! |
