I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course, and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
This week's newsletter will be the last of 2014 and so I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members and friends of Moray Pro Shop for all your support over the year, and we look forward to seeing you all back down on the links in the New Year for an even bigger and better year!!
If anyone would like to pop in between now and Christmas Eve for some mulled wine, prosecco, or whisky and a mince pie then we would love to see you to wish you a very Merry Christmas! You don't even have to buy anything!!
Look out for our January Sale in the New Year, and also Night Golf which we will be planning for sometime in Jan/Feb which should be some great fun!! We will also have the launch of the new Taylormade R15 and AeroBurner Woods on the 8th January so lots going on in the New Year!
I'm supporting Decembeard
Many of you may have wondered who the scruffy new guy is working in the shop this last week!! Well it's actually me working on growing my first ever beard. As you can see below, I have some way still to go but am doing this for Decembeard which is in aid of bowel cancer. I'm hoping for a growth spurt this week so I can possibly decorate it in time for Christmas day!!
Obviously this isn't a great time of year for charity fundraising as all we seem to do in December is spend, spend, spend as it is. However, if anyone wants to sponsor me with even the smallest donation, I would be very grateful. You can help by clicking here where you can donate through my Just Giving page or through the shop.
Seniors Christmas Party Goes Wild!!
The Seniors had their Christmas Lunch at the golf club on Tuesday with over 40 of them attending the meal and after dinner drinks!! I popped up after work to see how they were getting on and everyone seemed to be in high spirits which was great to see. I managed to take a few photos before things went too crazy!
Moray Pro Shop Goes Viral with Galvin Green Challenge
Last week Derek and I made the most of a rather cold, windy and wet afternoon to post our 2nd video on the Moray Golf Club & Pro Shop Facebook page. This time we decided to put our Galvin Green Goretex Waterproofs to the test like never before!! Since posting it on facebook last week we have reached over 22,500 people. Wouldn't it be great if they all decided to get one for Christmas.....maybe I'll have a late Christmas surge!!

At the 4th hole (Old) in the Hon John match play, Peter's ball ended up over the bunker on the left side of the fairway. Graham was on the green and had parked his trolley across the road on the path at the 5th Tee. Peter thinned his approach shot through the green and hit Graham's trolley resulting in his ball coming to rest out of bounds. What happens now? Asked Peter.
Answer
Graham was delighted to tell Peter that he could replay the stroke without penalty under Rule 19-3
