Food bank raffle drawn

Derek made the draw for the Moray Food Bank raffle on Monday night. The final total raised was just over £6000 which was amazing.

A huge thanks to all the donations that came in and congratulations to Derek on his great idea to raise funds for such a great local cause.

Flett wins Virtual Golf in style

Congratulations to Gary Flett on winning last weekends Virtual Golf Event (The Moray Masters) lifting the Green Jacket and winning a TaylorMade SiM Driver in the process

Gary won the first prize with a playoff win at the 1st extra hole with an eagle 2 at the 18th!!

We also managed to raise another £128 for the Ladybird Group in the process.

Thoughts for the course

Chipping is a fine art. It requires precision and skill, both of which may need sharpening after a few months away from the golf course. No shame in that! So, here are a couple of points to remember.

Landing Spots

Don’t focus on the hole. Instead, pick out a spot – a patch of grass on the green – to land your ball on. Consider how the slope and speed of the green, the lie of the ball and the club you choose may affect where the ball finishes after landing.

Practise makes perfect

When on the chipping green, place a towel on your landing spot (as seen in the above image) and take aim. As you get the hang of it, you can fold the towel to give yourself a smaller, more challenging target to work with.
