We hope you're well. Following on from the women's first Major of the year last weekend, this week it's the men's turn as they tee it up at Augusta National for the second Masters Tournament in a matter of months. It's a small field with only 88 players taking part but it all adds to the atmosphere and hopefully, it will provide some fascinating viewing to keep us entertained and motivate ourselves to get out and follow suit.....if only it was 20 degrees warmer! It's always a tough one to call but I'm putting my money on Jordan Speith continuing his run of form after returning to winning ways last week. My outside bet is that Matthew Fitzpatrick may feature in the top 10. A great putter and fairway finder and some great overseas form leading into the event. This week we have been busy trying to get the shop ready for our return to retail on Monday 26th April. We were hoping for a big day on Monday as we were officially allowed to offer a click and collect services once more. It was also supposed to be the first official competition of the season with the ladies RNLI charity Stableford. However, mother nature had other plans which included 40+ mph winds, snow showers and freezing temperatures and so the course was closed, the competition cancelled and customers nowhere to be seen! On Tuesday we were due to start our first junior camp since 2019, but yet again the wind and snow showers had other ideas and we had to cancel day 1. Thankfully day 2 was slightly better (only slightly) and it looks like we will manage to salvage some of the week. I'm pleased to say we did manage to get some ladies playing in a Stableford competition on the Old Course (Wednesday) and after many questions surrounding the new WHS, hopefully, we managed to get through it without any major problems. Now onwards and upwards as we head towards Saturdays Spring Meeting with a full tee sheet and 156 players booked in to take part. As always if you need to cancel your tee time this Saturday, please ensure you cancel this through the pro shop by calling in plenty of time so we have a chance to offer this time to a fellow member. Please leave a message if we can't get to the phone or drop us a message on social media or email With Saturday medal times at a premium, we will be monitoring the situation very closely. If there are repeat offenders who do not show for their tee times (without cancelling) then further action may need to be taken. Finally enjoy this weekends golf and by all means, copy their swings but please don't copy their Pace of Play. Enjoy Your Weekend & enjoy this week's read.
