I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course, and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
Winter Cup
After 18 great weeks our Winter Cup has concluded and our Champion for 2014/2015 is Barbara Caie. Massive congratulations and well done to Barbara who has come down 6 shots this winter and along the way produced two phenomenal scores. One of which was on Sunday with 43 points, which helped to her 11 shot victory overall.
Well done to Iain Cardwell, whom had been leading going into the final round, but was overtaken at the last hurdle. I'm sure there will be plenty great of scores to come from him this season. In 3rd place we had two Winter Cup regulars Lynne Tough and Jim Murphy who have both been playing well all winter also.
Both Barbara and Iain have been working hard on their games in the off season and their golf lessons and practice are now starting to pay dividends. Both of them also recently made an investment in new custom fitted equipment and these investments are obviously helping too and already starting to pay for themselves.
Well done to everyone who played over the last 18 weeks.
This weekend will see the Winter Cup final which is open to anyone whom has played in the Winter Cup, and will be played over Saturday and Sunday on the Old Course.

This week we had our PING Demo day at Elgin Golf Range which is always popular and well received from all.
We also had a very successful TaylorMade Fitting Day last Friday. Thanks to everyone who came along on the day. The big sellers on the day were the new RSi Irons and the new Ultimate Driving Iron (UDI) which is available in 1 Iron up to a 5 Iron. I have a couple of these due into the shop in the next couple of weeks and these are ideal for a back up tee club around the Moray Links.
If you missed the event but would still like to book a custom fitting, please click here to get in touch and we can arrange a time.
Other demo events coming up shortly are:
- Callaway - Friday, 20 March - 2-6pm
- Titleist - Wednesday, 27 May - 2-6pm
Call the shop on 813330 to book your FREE no obligation appointment, or click here to get in touch.
If any of our demo/fitting events don't suit you for any reason then just come and see us in the shop and we can arrange an alternative date for us to help fit you out with that new driver or set of irons.
We have a large selection of fitting equipment in the shop and have trial sets available from PING, Wilson, TaylorMade and Titleist for our members and customers to benefit from.
