I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
It's been a busy week here at Moray GC with the weather getting more like spring time and lots of people playing over the Easter Weekend. Myself and Derek have been busy with our junior Easter Camp which ran Monday to Wednesday with 14 kids aged 5 to 9 and 10 kids aged 10 - 14 attending. It was a great 3 days, with two ages groups running back to back. The kids learned the basics to chipping and putting along with some swing fundamentals. We also incorporated playing a few holes, some basic rules and general etiquette. The 3 days were focussed around fun along with adding some challenges and games.
On Wednesday afternoon we had our second ladies group coaching class, looking at bunker play. It was great to see so many ladies attending and hopefully with a little practice your bunker woes will be a thing of the past!!
Then there's the small matter of the year's first Major approaching, The Masters. There's been huge hype surrounding the event with McIlroy in prime position to achieve the career grand slam. But also the fact Tiger has announced he is playing and all reports suggest his game is looking sharp in practice! Will Rory write himself into golfing immortality or will Tiger roar again? Whatever happens it's going to be a great watch! Who's your money on?
If you bought a square in our Masters sweepstake, click here to find out which player you have been drawn. Good Luck!!

There was a decent turnout for the season opening Greensomes over the Old Course. Congratulations to Ken Lindsey and Mick Leigh who claimed first prize with a 67.6. John Petrie and Neil Stewart were second with 68.4. In third were Nick Dawson and Robbie Young with 69.4 and 4th Mike Williams and Mark Watson with 70.0.
Texas Scramble
The first Open of the year took place on Sunday with a full field playing over the Old Course attracting visitors from all over the North and North East of Scotland and even some players from the central belt. One thing that stood out from the day is how well received the course is with visitors, which just highlights the mountain of work Kevin and his staff have put in through the winter. Section 2 (4.1+)

2nd Place - M Glenn, K Gunn, N White, G Benson (Craibstone) - 58.5

Need More Power in Your Round??
We are also running a special battery trade in offer during April. Trade in any old battery and I shall give you £25 discount on a new Lithium battery.
We have 18 hole options with t-bar and torberry connections for £199 - £25 trade in = £174 or 36 hole £249 - £25 = £224.
Lithium batteries are certainly not cheap but have significant advantages and in my opinion are actually the cheaper options over the long term.
Traditional lead acid batteries are heavy, take longer to charge, have a reduced lifespan and reduced warranty compared to its lithium counterpart. A lot of people go for the lead acid battery based on cost in the short term, but I can assure you it's going to last longer and save you money in the long run.
If you would like to test drive one of our Motocaddy rental trollies with a lithium battery click here and we can arrange a FREE rental for you and run through the benefits again with you.
