I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
It's been another eventful week in the world of golf outside MGC!
Could we have just uncovered a new method of putting? Quite a sight seeing Robert Strebb putting with a wedge for 9 holes after snapping his putter shaft on the 9th in the final round of the Greenbrier classic! To then capitalise on this and make a 4 way playoff is remarkable. Well worth a watch if you have a moment to spare!

As a keen Manchester United fan McIlroy is a keen footballer, but after damaging ankle ligaments I don't think he'll be playing for Manchester United anytime soon. But more importantly he won't be there to defend his Open Championship title at St Andrews next week, which paves the way for Jordan Spieth to continue his unbelievable run in the Majors. This past tournament also saw Tiger Woods come back into some form which ended with a bogey free 67 in round 4 of the Greenbrier Classic for a -7 under total only 6 shots of the winning score. An outside bet for the Open Championship???

Summer Camp a Success!
We had a fantastic 3 days with the juniors for our club golf summer camp with ages ranging from 5 to 10 years old.
The mornings consisted of warm up games and then an introduction to some fundamental golf skills; putting, chipping and ball striking.
Thankfully the weather managed to stay dry for us most of the time and the kids certainly seemed to enjoy themselves.
H.P Stewart Trophy OLD CSS 74
Torrential rain Saturday morning wasn't enough to keep some of you from the golf course and certainly didn't hinder some good scoring. Congratulation to Ryan Webster who piped Michael Dean and Iain Cardwell to first qualifier. Darren Dry and Ryan Copland finished a further shot back.
Ryan Webster 76 - 6 = 70
Michael J Dean 73 - 3 = 70

Playing the 16th New, Colin hit his best drive of the round but unfortunately it ran out of fairway down the right hand side and bounced into the whins. He played a provisional ball which got caught up in the long grass, also on the right but he could only advance it a few yards. He played another 2 shots with his provisional ball until he was short of the area where his original was likely to be.
Finding his original ball he deemed it unplayable and measured out 2 club lengths which almost got him out of the whins. He pondered his options at that time and asked Craig if he was permitted again to deem it unplayable and measure out another 2 club lengths which would take him clear of the whins.
Did Craig agree??
In order to conform with the Unplayable ball rule Colin would have to DROP his ball within 2 club lengths from his original ball then deem it unplayable again and measure another 2 club lengths from his Dropped ball which he did then he played a wedge onto the green and holed his putt for a 5.
