Kyle Godsman claims Scottish Golf Union Order of Merit Title
Congratulations must go to Kyle Godsman who recently won the SGU Order of Merit title. What a fantastic result and really a great reward for all his hard work during the last couple of seasons playing the SGU amateur circuit.
Kyle had 6 top 10 finishes out of 12 events this year, along with a victory at the North East Amateur at Cruden Bay, which is very impressive.
Well done also to Jeff Wright, who finished 3rd which was the result of a fantastic season as well. The journeys up and down the A9 were very worthwhile for the two of them.
From everyone at Moray Golf Club a massive well done to the two lads and let's dream of big things for 2016!

Brian and Ken were walking up the left side of the 5th Old fairway hoping to come across Brian's ball which had run off the fairway after his second shot into the rough. Suddenly, Brian stands on his ball and pushes it into the ground incurring a penalty stroke under Rule 18-2a.(Ball at rest moved by player). The original lie of his ball was known and, instead of PLACING the ball in the nearest most similar lie within one club length of the original, as required by Rule 20-3b, (Lie of ball to be placed altered), he places the ball almost two club-lengths away and makes his next stroke. Ken was watching Brian's actions, what did he have to say?
In match play, it is clear Brian incurs the general penalty of loss of hole for a breach of Rule 18 or Rule 20-3b. In Stroke play Brian incurs a total penalty of two strokes under Rule 18. The player is considered to be in breach of Rlue 18 if he places the ball other than as prescribed by Rule 20-3b. |

Are you taking a risk?
Every time we hear someone say they don’t have golf insurance, we wince. The potential costs associated with injuring someone with a stray shot, for example, should be enough to make you think about taking out a policy. We can help find a suitable policy that covers you with our recommended insurance provider, Golf Care, here… | find out more |
