I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.
The weather has continued to be very dry and mild for the time of year and as a result the course has still been pretty busy in the mornings. This has also allowed the work on the updated watering system to continue, and so far the work seems to be moving on as planned with little disruption to the course play.
Winter Cup The winter cup will commence next weekend,
Saturday, 7 November on the Old Course. For a full list of fixtures and winter cup rules and regulations
click here or check out the clubhouse or shop notice boards.
Remember we are now in winter rules from the fairways, with the option to play from outside the marked red lines from the grass or from mats from the fairways. The shop have plenty mats available for purchase at either
£6 for a standard mat or
£12 for our rocket launcher mats which have been proving very popular.
We had a slight return to the wind last week. The high winds were blowing everything over outside the shop, but it wasn't bad enough to stop a couple of our up and coming juniors,
Joshua Whitefoot and
Sam Dry taking to the course for a few holes with Derek.
We have still been busy in the shop with our autumn/winter ranges arriving.
Last week, we had yet more clothing arrive from one of golf's industry leading brands which is ideal for the cooler months ahead.
I can't guarantee it will make you play as well as the likes of Jordan Spieth, but I can make sure you look as good!!
We have also received our new
Titleist Fitting cart. We have been upgraded to this new cart which is great as it gives us far greater shaft options than were previously available.
This has tied in with the launch of the new Titleist Irons ranges including the
AP1,
AP2 and new
MB models which look great.
We also have a good selection of demo's in the new
Titleist 816 hybrids. The new 816 Hybrids are available in 2 models, the H1 & H2 with loft choices every 2 degrees and a new 1 degree surefit hosel adjustment for loft & lie to give the most precise fit and yardage gaps that Titleist have ever had. The H1 is a slightly larger head which is easier to launch, while the H2 has a more compact head for launch and trajectory control.
Come in and take a look at the new apparel ranges and check out the videos below to take a look at the new Titleist products:

Playing the 14th New Bob's ball was lying on a small piece of plastic. He marked the spot where his ball lay directly under the bag, removed the bag and replaced his ball at that spot. He was in the process of playing his stroke when Neil questioned if he had proceeded correctly.. What was his concern?
As Bob's ball was lying on a movable obstruction and therefore not on a part of the course he was not entitled to place his ball and under Rule 20-6 he was permitted to lift and drop his ball as near as possible to the spot directly under the place where his ball lay but not nearer the hole. If you drop a ball and play it that should have been placed, or vice versa, there is a 2 stroke penalty or loss of hole in Match Play.
