I hope you've all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to another exciting edition of the Moray Pro Shop weekly newsletter, bringing you up to date with all the latest news and gossip from within the walls of MGC.

We had our first flurry of snow over the weekend which adds to the festive mood but doesn't help when trying to play a game of golf! Despite the weather there was still a decent enough turnout of hardy souls in the winter cup, there will be a full round up later in the newsletter.

Gemma and Natalie have been hard at work putting the Christmas decorations up in the clubhouse in all of the lounges. Why not pop in to have a look and a hot chocolate!

Club news

Last Sunday night I had a meeting with the Junior Girls section along with Monica Grant, Graham Broad, Frances Neish, Kay Vincent and Barbra Hendry and 5 of our keen young golfers. The main aim of the meeting was to give the girls some information for the 2016 season, but more importantly what they wanted out of their membership.

One of the top ideas from the meeting didn't come from any of the adults but one of our wee stars of the junior girls section, Jennifer Pyett. She proposed a mentoring system whereby each junior had a mentor at the club, someone they can email or call to ask questions, or even their parents if they don't play golf. Everyone thought this was a great idea and it would help create a true club spirit.

If you would be interested in mentoring a junior in 2016 pop by the shop or click here to get in touch.

Thanks to all that came to the meeting and I'm looking forward to catching up in 2016.

Finally I would just like to add a special mention to the amazing efforts of Monica Grant, who is a continuous driving force for junior golf at Moray GC through Club Golf level 1 along with husband Norman and their helpers.

We're truly lucky to have such an amazing woman at our club.
