Moray had 2 teams represent the club at the Northern Counties in Royal Aberdeen last weekend.
Moray 2 won their first round match against Nairn Dunbar at the 23rd hole after the 2 games finished A/S after 18. Unfortunately they lost their next game on the 20th after another tight match against Royal Dornoch 2.
Moray won started very strong winning their opening match 18 up over the 2 matches against Kings 2. Moray then went on to further convincing wins against Nairn 2 (7 Up) and Brora (11 Up) before losing 1 down against Nairn 1. The boys were a combined 3 ahead with only a couple holes to play but with both matches losing ground over the final stretch the matches flipped around and Moray finally lost by 1 hole at the end of a very closely fought match.
A tough loss to take but still a very strong performance from the team who I’m sure will be back again next year looking to go all the way. Well done to both teams on a great week representing the club. The teams were Moray 1 (Jordan Edwards, Ryan Copland, Stuart Tatters, Craig Smith) and Moray 2 (Brent Macleman, Reagan Main, Iain Ross, Blair Leslie)
